What is the history and popularity of the app?

Infostripe was founded in February of 2011 by Harold Fudge. The application was intended to give individuals, professionals and others an easy way to create a customized information resource to share with any audience. The current version supports content from more than 225 web stores, networks, websites and other online sources. Users can also include personal blog posts, Tweets and other social updates as well as images and videos.

What are the differences to other apps?

Many website builders let users add content from social networks and other sources. Infostripe uses that concept and adds its own extra features. Users can create a website that is mobile-friendly, a feature that sometime requires extra steps with other services. The application also supports over 225 third party networks, sites and stores. That gives the user an enormous number of options when customizing an Infostripe page.

How does the web app look and feel to use?

Infostripe uses a rather basic design that leaves plenty of room for customization. The user’s page is literally a stripe of information that runs along the center. Each entry is clearly defined so visitors can easily find what they need with minimal effort. Three buttons allow the user to switch between profile, settings and network options. The design is versatile without becoming too confusing or complicated.

How does the registration process work?

A new user can begin by clicking the blue “Sign Up” link near the top, center of the homepage (under the orange header). A row of familiar icons is available under the link for users who prefer to sign up with a third party account. Options include Android, Chrome Web Store, Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn, Twitter and Empire Avenue. Users who take the traditional route and click the link are asked to provide a title, username, email address and password. The user is automatically logged in and can begin editing their Infostripe page immediately.

What does it cost to use the application?

Infostripe offers its services to all users at no cost. There are no set up fees and the user doesn’t have to subscribe to any services. The website announced the addition of an iOS app that will also be free, at least for the time being. Future updates could introduce premium features but for now, anyone can enjoy the convenience and benefits of Infostripe without paying anything for the opportunity.

Who would you recommend the application to?

Infostripe is a good resource for anyone who needs a quick and convenient way to share information with an audience. The stripe design is very versatile and can work for individuals sharing personal updates as well as professionals, musicians, artists and others. The only downside is that the user is corralled into the stripe layout, which some may not like. For the most part Infostripe offers a good service at a great price.
